Stephanie Izard's newest concept, Sugargoat, is a bakery with the goal of taking a funky and modern twist on retro sweets shops, nostalgic flavors and childhood optimism. The project was to create a brand that is modern and colorful, non-pretentious, and not overly feminine while clearly visualizing the mission of creating sweets for the KID in everyone.

Bright • Nostalgic • Fun • Light-Hearted

For this project I worked with the Marketing Director and Chef Izard to develop the brand mission and voice for this concept. From this point on it was my sole responsibility to develop all facets of this brand from logotype, color palette, brand voice and all visual assets and collateral in a short timeline to our launch date.

Physical Applications

We had a short turnaround to develop packaging, collateral, signage, merchandise and to transform the physical space from a diner coffee shop into a nostalgic and fun sweets shop. To keep things bright and colorful but not overwhelming, the rainbow brand pattern was used sparingly in small but fun instances and deliberate color-blocking was used in other instances to keep things clean and simple.

Social Media & Art Direction

For this concept I personally run and oversee everything that goes onto our Instagram channel. All photography styling, graphics, posting strategy, community management and captions are strategically created to fit the brands visual and tone guidelines while appealing to a wide audience of families, 20-somethings and kids alike.
